Thermostat Questions....
Hey everyone, im changing my thermostat today, but I have a few questions, I know to take out the drain plug in the bottom of the radiator and drain it, and then to take off the hose connected to the housing of the radiator. But my question is, when I drain the coolant, will there be any left in that hose that is connected to the housing? Also, after completing the task and refilling it, what will be a good way to test the thermostat?? Please respond with all good suggestions....thanks guys
Yes, there will still be quite a bit of coolant in the hose, so expect spillage. The only way I can think of to test the t-stat is with a datalogger or a coolant temp gauge to view your actual coolant temp. Is this a lower temp t-stat?

If it is stuck open then its shot. You are in need of a new one. Usually signs to tell you this are: If your car taking awhile to heat up. Or when it does the heat isnt very hot.
