What can I do to my b18b for now?
Ok Im building a hybrid motor (LS/Vtec) but Im building it on the side.
While im doing that what can I buy for my b18b right now that will carry over to my LS vtec?
Im going to pick up a JDM DC 4-1 and a Apex N1 Muffler. I also beileve I can run a type R or Skunk2 intake manifold right?
Basically Im impatient and want to add just a bit of power to my b18b while im building my all motor sexy beast motor.

the intake manifold you will have to wait for, the holes for the vtec and nonvtec heads are different
how much money are you looking to spend? have you alreaty done other stuff like suspension and brake upgrades to handle the extra power?

you can get some civic si pistons, header, high flow cat, exhaust. i believe cam gears are the same for all the b series dohc engines.
you could also get a shorter geared transmission.

turbo ? you want to be fast dont ya ?
jk . since your building a motor on the side , purchase parts that you will be able to use later on down the road . such as brakes , bushings , parts that would stiffen up your suspension would be a good choice . no point in buying Nonvtec parts if you cant use them on your new motor .

Suspension is just about done.
I have full coilovers, just ordered 500R/400F ERS springs. ITR sway bar is ordered, Neuspeed lower tie bar, Neuspeed up strut tower bar with a home made rear uppper strut tower bar. Have 15 inch slips with ecstas but once those are gone Ill run some s03's or az's.
So far im going to order me a JDM DC 4-1 and maybe a apexi N1 or stick with a stock ITR exhuast system.
I do want to go turbo but im trying to resist, I have had many many turbo cars (mr2, dsm, turbo prelude, turbo hybrid EK coupe) so im trying something different now

put some APC or Tenzo-R turbo kit on it. j/k
Sleeve the motor and block guard it. Golden Eagle would be my choice since that's where I got my **** done and they come with warranty and stuff. Get Mugen thermal stat and switch then your temp would run good and solid.

well my block was sleeved and guarded by golden eagle and why doesn't it make sense. besides, it's only $50 to have em on there. i need it cause i have force induction. i know, at first it didn't make sense to me at all but i got em anyway just to play safe.
Geats Advice guys but I think you miss understood me. I already have a LS block sitting at the machine shop as we speak being punched for new pistons,rods and the whole 9. I am building my own motor and know what im doing.
Im looking for things that I Can throw on my car now and can still RE-USE when I get my LS vtec built up.

I understood your original post .... Ignition Kit .... bump your timing .... hot spark plugs ... Fuel system upgrades.... VAFC
Definatly going to run a ignition kit, Just bumped my timming 4 degrees and running 91 octane now. Not going to go with a VAFC though because I will be running a AEM EMS. Hmm any suggestions on what plugs to run ?
