Default Best way to lower a EP3?

A friend of mine (not a H-T guy) just bought a EP3 and it needs to be lowered an inch or so. What is the best way to go about this? The car doesnt need auto-x style handling, its mostly for looks, so nothing too stiff. Thanks! Rick

Yeah lower that baby!!! But, 1 inch for style isnt going to really make a diff IMO, what set up are going to put on. I went with a 2.25 (f). 2.0 (r). inch drop...looks a lot better and rides great. Wheel gap is nearly gone with stock wheels. one tool you will need is a tie rod separator or tie rod puller to get the strut off. try this site. http://www.pryor.ws/honda/gallery1.htm gives sizes for what you'll need.

also, your driveshaft WILL most likely come out , not to worry though if it does come out just give a little counterclock wise, back again motion and it should go back in with little effort. For the most part the link will get you through it. Good Luck and post pics!

If you only want a 1" drop or so, perhaps you could persuade one of the european h-t members to look into the price of OEM replacement CTR springs. Might be worth a shot.

Spoon springs if you want 1" drop and a firmer ride.

i went with eibach sportlines with 1.25fr and 1.5 back. if you go any lower than that, you'll need some performance struts because the damper is too short, causing a bouncy and rough ride.

Are those progressive or straight ratio? Designed to work with stock shocks, or do you recommend an aftermarket shock?
OH NO....Here we go again!

Hey MI6, how is the ride with those sportlines? He really isnt looking for hard core performance, just a small drop for visual and minor handling improvement. How bad is the camber too? Thanks for all the responses guys! Rick

the camber might be around -1 degree, which is still acceptable by honda. the ride is noticeably more responsive and it feels planted better when cornering. it's a bit harsher than stock but i feel the road more because i have 17", 40 series wheels. that's the lowest i'd go on this ride without performance dampers.

Spoon Springs lower a CTR 1". The stock CTR is lower than our Si is, so I'm guessing what--1.5 to 2" drop with the Spoons.

Intrax springs are the OFFICIAL STUNNA CONVERSION SPRING . like 2.5 inch drop? rides great to me, but is real harsh with the 215-35-18's ive got. super harsh. i would recommend the springs however- the ride is way better than stock and feels real good and the look is great for a great price price.

I have the eibach sportlines on my ep -- they lower it between 1.5 and 1.75 inches -- more than the 1.4 they claim -- it settled down to at least 1.75 --- the ride is excellent, almost stock feeling, not too bouncy --- I am using stock struts. I measured my camber professionally and its -2 in the rear ---- and -.5ish in the front... TIME FOR A CAMBER KIT.

I'd recomend the eibachs, great ride, I had sprints last car and they sucked ***.

In my opinion i think that the Eibach Sportline kit looks great cause it still leaves a little wheel gap and it isnt way too low its just right.

Yeah i have stechs for my EJ8 mike. More a a drop than on EPs, at 1.9" in teh front and 1.7" in teh rear. If your looking for a small drop, go with teins, mugens, or spoons. Their drops aren't that dramatic and you know they make quality products.

I put Progress springs on my EP. Thought it was a 2" drop, but it is 1.75". Car rides great. Progress will be coming out with adj. coilovers later this year. Progress seems to be a great company. I also have swaybars from Progress. Absolutely love the ride with the sways. Check out Progress at http://www.progressauto.com

If so.. I'd go with those..
