all d series tranny fit?(cable only)
wassup peops,
I have but one question: does all the d series tranny fit each year besides hydraulic ones? My tranny just went and I only have a '88 tranny available and wondered if it would fit with no probs? The tranny looks a little smaller and wondered if the clutch would be a problem also. Please advise me so I don't make a disastrous mistake. Thanks y'all!!

if you have an 88, you need to use an 88 clutch kit and 88-89 flywheel. if the flywheel is a non 88-89 you can use a ACT 88 upgrade kit, or an 84-87 acord disc and a 90-91 civic pressure plate. etc search lot of info
will a cable tranny fit on a newer motor that came equipped w/ hydro, or would you have to use one of the cable > hydro conversions?
ok.. you simply asked if a cable tranny and a motor that came with hydro tranny will bolt up.. yes they will..
however, replacing a hydro tranny in a hydro tranny car, with a cable tranny isnt a direct bolt in. The passenger side mount will not line up at all. they make mount kits for this.. but... thats $
what transmission, and what car, and what engine are you trying to slap togather? That would get you a more accurate answer.
but, you cant just replace a hydro transmission with a cable one. theres more work involved than a factory replacement..

thanks steve; i was just curious if i could use say a 1st gen b16 tranny on like a b18c, or b20 w/ less work than utilizing the hydro tranny-which is more difficult?
If a car isnt equiped with hydro, and your putting a b series engine in, it will probably be easiest to go with the b16 cable tranny.
