Default Wiring Harness Question

I am swapping a b16a2 into an EG 93 DX.

Can i plug my DX wiring harness straight into the b16a2?? I know the distributor must be changed from obd2 to obd1 if i'm to do that, but is there anything else i gotta change too?

Thanx

it would be really easy if you had an OBD2 gsr harness. But since you dont, the plug needs to be changed on the alternator, distributer and injectors. everything else thats there will work. you will still need to add plugs..

Im gonna chase up the guy who sold me the engine for the original b16a2 wiring harness. Should i use this, will it clip into the plugs on the strut tower?

..and if i can use the b16a2 engine harness, does that mean i dont have to change distributor, injector plugs, alternator...etc.

By B16A2 you mean out of 99-00 Si right. Easiest to get an OBD-II harness wired for VTEC (Ex, GSR, etc.) so you don't have to change all that stuff out. Then most people get an OBD-II to OBD-I jumper so they can run a chipped OBD-I ecu

You cannot use the obd2 b16a2 harness.
The original harness that came on that b16a2 is a one piece harness.
Your year civic uses a 2 piece harness.

That is why you want to get an obd2 gsr or type R engine harness.
The integra uses a 2 piece harness, just like your civic, so it will plug into the motor and also plug into your civics intermediate harness.

That is incorrect. He has an intermediate harness that runs between the engine harness and the ecu. The vtec obd2 integra harness will plug directly into the engine side of the intermediate harness and the obd1 ecu will plug into the other side of the inter. harness.
He does not need a jumper because his civic is already obd1.

You are spot on Slopoke

Thanx for the answer to my question. *sigh* Looks like i gotta spend more money on a GSR harness. If there are other options, please let me know. Im a bit low on cash after purchasing the engine. Btw - im in Australia, and got the b16a2 for AU $1500. Everything is there except the distributor, engine harness, and axles .
