Swapping engines with wife need help.
Okay my wife has a 89' Dx sedan and she has well over 200K on the motor. I have A HF crx and mine has like 130K. I was going to swap the engines. How hard will it be? Like beside swapping the engines what else will I have to do? I am ppretty sure that I will have to swap the ECU's right? And after the swap I'm converting the D15B2 to MPFI. But as far as the swapping of the engines what will I have to do?
Okay sorry for not clarifying what engine I was gonig to drop into the HF. I am going to for the time being drop in a D15B2. The engine from the 89' DX. Okay now how does it roll from here?
its easy, mounts are the same, just disconnect the harnesses from each car, and from all periphrial devices, put a hydro jack under the tranny jack plate, lower the thing, roll over to other car, and voila you've got it, just jack up into the car from bottom, put the bolts in the mounts and take a break come back and connect the harness to everything. It pretty simple, just kinda time consuming. good luck.
why dont u just pick a A6 or a SOHC VTEC for cheap..
ti will be less trtouble than just swaping those 2 lil shitty engines... plus she will hate having the HF engine over the DX...

It's gonna be easier to swap in another DX engine or an D16A6. The HF will just be a **** load more complicated and you wife will prolly bitch about how the car won't "go" anymore........... b/c it's a 62hp engine trying to pull a 2400lbs car.
Well put! I didn't think about the weight of the cars. I was saying in all my other threads that I found a place that is selling the SOHC ZC for like $455 shipped to my door. That's pretty damned good. So I will probably just let her keep the D15B2 until it goes all the way out. And then probably switch it for another D15B2 or possibly find another SOHC ZC for her. So I guess we can trash this thread. I appreciate the info clarification by you and CRXGURLL! You two are pretty informative!
