Default 4TH GEN VTEC, Power steering problem

guys i need help with power steering in 4th gen vtec.
i assembled whole engine bay and filled power steering with SHELL AT FLUID.
it's not working, is it:
1. wrong fluid (i don't think so)
2. i connected something wrong

HELP!!!!!!!!!!! and sorry for bad english

power steering is different than Automatic transmission fluid....as far as I know..

i'll change fluid but other cars can go on AT fluid (nissan 200SX).
but if it's wrong fluid can it damage pump or something?

I'd just get a bunch of Honda powersteering fluid and keep running it through there.....
Get as much of the AT fluid out of there (dump the resevoir, take off the PS cooler in the front, etc) and try to get it out of there......then fill everything up with the honda stuff, go drive around for a couple days, then flush the sytem again and fill it back up......you should be fine after that I'd think.....

run the car and take the outlet hose off to the reservior. keep dumping in power steering fluid, honda or not. all of htem work.

you'll need a help from a friend to shut the car down.

but keep running the car and dump the fluid in a pan and your system will flush out.
