Default ls vs. b16 NA w/ occasional NOS what is best??

OK, no flaming please because I am dead serious about this topic and want straight answers because I am confused. I have a 1989 CRX Si and I am gonna put in a b18a (if all goes to plan) or b16 depending on the feedback I get at this post. I was originally gonna go b18a and boost but got ALOT of feedback from Cali import people about maintainance and stuff breaking and people have suggested go NA. But like at the track and for people that wanna screw around have some NOS for them.

First off parts and price to build up each motor. I am gonna want to spend less but want the same performance as if I put in the same amount of money into each motor.

What kind of horsepower do you think I could squeeze out of the B18A or B16A NA, no forced induction what so ever?

I want to get into the low 13's in the quarter, do you think I could do this with an Ls motor going NA or will I have to have NOS for sure?

PLEASE DONT REPLY TO THIS POST IF YOU ARE GONNA BE GAY, I JUST WANT TO KNOW SOME HORSEPOWER NUMBERS AND WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST WAY TO GO.

ever consider a b20/vtec? You'll get into the 13's and will not need the NOS or turbo. just a thought

Anyone out there have a full swap b20/vtec? How much would these run? Like I said BUDGET. A dude wanted to sell me an LS/VTEC motor for like 2900, it only pulled a 15 flat so I laughed at him.

considering ive neer been in a crx with a LS but i would say b16's are nice a lil over rated, but still nice .. and LS with b16 cable LSD tranny and a 70shot would be nice .. even a b16 mantained with 70shot would work .. i would say b16 better powerplant to work with

if you're going for NA, b16 is the way to go, unless you're gonna go ls/vtec. regular b18's aren't all that great for NA, they're great for boosting though. the b16 all built up can make some pretty mean numbers NA, but not very much torque.
