Roger Sangcro and the AEBS team used to run an all motor B16 way back in the day in their Orange CRX, i beleive their best time in that setup was 11.60.. thats about the only all motor one i know of, Also i could be wrong, but i think Norman Aubry runs one also, but im not sure, if not, i could have sworn i seen that info somewhere,

Yes Lisa Kubo has always run a B16. except for 1 race at Atco when we borrowed a motor from Kenny Tran

I ran a B16 most of this year. I thought it was great you can make good power and rev the hell out of it as long as you have enough cam on the top end. I think the most I made on the B16 was 658 whp. best et with that was 9.41 at 150mph with the extra torque from the gs-r I was able to get to 9.20 at 157mph.

 

sav, would you tell us if it was a 1.6 liter displacement?? if you cant its understandable.

 

i used b16a with stroker crank 2.0 liter as well... blocks are cheaper and easier t find. ask gary kubo about that. people literally give away b16a obd1 blocks for under 100 bucks.

I'm running a pretty much stock b16a1 in a rex right now. I havn't ran it on dyno yet so I don't know the exact specs but my set up and e.t. are in my sig.

That's so true. I know some one right now selling a B16 Bottom end for 100$ But I didn't jump on it.

 

Actually, Sav' B16 that went 9.41 was all 100% B16. Not stroked or anything with a smaller 83mm bore. That thing was amazing. It went 9.40 in the rain, hail, sleet, snow, on a hot day, a cold day, backwards, sideways.... and it never died.!!! It was like the frickin energizer bunny, it kept going, and going, and going......

 

uh, how can a 100% b16 be 83mm bore?? correct me if I am wrong but the b16 stock bore is 81mm.how is that smaller?? regardless the car was very fast at an almost 1.7 liter b16.

I ran a bone stock b16 bottom end and made descent power 331hp.. with plenty of 11 sec time slips. As stated earlier, they are a much cheaper alternative to a gsr if something goes wrong.
