stripping your car
If you take everything out its worth it and you will notice a difference but if not It's not worth it.
I started by just removing the back seat. (no real difference)
Removed carpet paneling tar jack spare etc. (noticed a difference)

one tenth of a second lost in the 1/4 mi for every 100lbs removed is fairly average. not a big deal unless your running around in something with considerable weight already like an f-body or mustang. in a civic there isn't hardly enough weight to remove to improve your times that much.

i hear removing the tar under the carpet u can notice a difference in weight. my freind ran 13.5 on slicks with a stock gsr in a 94 ex coupe with all the tar out and swiss cheesing the rear and front bumper supports and stripped completely in the rear half.

Tar; 10 pounds
Bumper support swiss chesse; 5 pounds
back seat; 10 pounds
Rear Panels; 10 pounds
TOTAL; 35 pounds
35 pounds isnt a huge difference so I wouldent credit his times to his "striped interior".
It all adds up but if your going to drill holes in you bumper support I would hope your
freind did the normal things like ac and power steering removal.
take out the roof bracket in the trunk. I heard this weighs like 50 pounds, an if you don't store the roof in your trunk, then you don't need it anyway
also- run topless at the track

everything adds up man..
like they said .10 second is what your looking at.

All I was saying was that if your going to take it as far as too drill
holes in the bumper support that you should be a serious racer.
Strip the easy stuff first.
