Think I solved the J's intake L bracket question... + one question of my own.
I finally got a chance to install the intake tonight. Took a bit longer than i would've hoped since everything is so tight, from removing the tubes to pushing in the intake.
However I think that is where I found use of the bracket. At first I thought it was to support the intake, but the intake fit so tightly in there i started to think otherwise. I was going to think about it after i installed the intake. But I had a lot of trouble putting the rubber area over the intake manifold. Eventually I couldn't take it anymore and used the bracket as leverage, I slipped it ounder the plastic pushed the intake and the rubber slipped right over throttlebody area
Now my question.. The intake is REALLY tight in there. The intake actually makes constant contact with the strut bar. Anyone else worry/ have that? Anything to do about it?
Cliffnotes: L bracket may possibly not used to hold the intake, possibly just for install purpose.

I had two problems:
1) rubbing the strut tower bar or
2) rubbing the hood
I solved both my bending my a/c lines under.

You have to change your name from Stock R to J's Racing R now
It fits really snug thankfully no AC lines to worry about

Mine rubs just barely on the strut bar too but I slipped a small piece of styrofoam in there to avoid contact. As for the AC lines, they sit right on top, hopefully w/o complication. Does your intake rub against teh distributor lines too?
it rubs EVERYTHING. well, so far it rests against.
i can't say much ebcause the car is still in storage. i haven't started her up yet.
