LS 5th gear swap
Hey guys, I did a search but nothing turned up. Can anybody give me more info about this swap, I'm considering doing it to bring the revs down for the HWY driving I will be doing.
The more info you guys can supply me the better.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Sorry I should have been more specific, I currently have a SI tranny in the car now and I want to swap out the 5th gear on it so my revs will be lowered for HWY driving. Has anybody done this? If so where you pleases with your results and how are your Revs compared to before.
Thanks in advance,
Mike

you'll need a brand new or used 5th gear set, one for the main shaft and one for the countershaft. i would tell you to take the tranny off the car, and take it to a good tranny shop along with the ls fith. they shouldn't charge more than 200 to do this, since you're doing most of the labor!
