z6/y8 mani price?
I paid 75.00 for my Y8 intake mani w/throttle body. The Z6 I had came with my motor. You need to have different injectors or change your plugs, Y8 are OBD2 and have different plugs. Also need to have a IAT sensor put in you intake piping for the Y8. Also for the Y8 get one from a 5sp not an auto the IACV is not the same from auto to 5sp. The 5sp will be on the back and the auto will be on the t/b. Z6 it doesn't matter and the IAT sensor is still on the mainfold.Everything else bolts right up no changes. May have to route coolant lines a little bit but can be done.
dunno about the Z6 never used it. Used the A6 and the Y8's. I did notice a little difference but not hella lot. Maybe a few h/p but nothing major. A dyno or somthing may show really but it may also be a mental thing, (I put this new part on and it must be faster, I think it is) you know how that goes
as compaired to each other there is little diff from the A6 and the z6 i have both and i can hardly tell the diff. i would say if your running 9's the z6 would be the better choice but anything under 200 hp i would say there would be no diff at all between the z6 and the a6 i have both and im sticking with the a6. granted the z6 may have a tiny better flow (1 or 2 hp at the most) im useing the a6 because i have a jg throttle body for it and it wont fit on the z6.
also there is a little vacume modual on the a6 throttle body that the z6 dosnt have it may have to do with idle im not shure. also i like A6 because it looks stock. i modified my z6 fuel rail to fit on my a6 manafold (redrilled 2 hole's). i polished it up and it looks really good ill post a pic of both manafolds when i get a chance.
also are the injector's from an obd1 z6 saturated like the a6? or are they peek and hold? thanks
