any have a spare 96 honda accord TPS sensor
i have a 96 accord coupe ex 1.8
the dealer wants madd money for it cause its welded on to a big peice of the throttle body
anybody have this ???

 

what is an ex 1.8? Accords have an 2.2 liter engine.

sorry about the way i wrote that but i need help
iwas wondering the mechanic told me i cant just change the tps sensor cause its welded to a piece of the throttle body and i have to buy that whole throttle body piece in order to get that sensor???
is he wrong??????

Well, if you look at # 22 on the diagram, it screws into the throttle body. This would not be welded in from Honda. They would never weld a sensor that could go bad in like that...

 

if so then why is my mechanic pointing at what i have circled in the diagram???
he says thats the tps sensor and that honda dont sell it with out the whole throttle body???
is this true??
and will a 94 accord ex vtec 2.2 throttle fit???? cause some kid pm me saying he has it???

anyway, the TPS is riveted onto the TB. it is not available separately from honda, since each individual TPS is calibrated with a specific TB. what you can do is get the part from a junkyard. you will have to drill out the rivets on your TB and install hte new sensor. you may need to adjust the idle speed afterwards.

 

it is part of the throttle body, you can not just replace the sensor.

The reason why your title is not good is because you're not specific.
Of course you want help, we all want help, this is why we post.
But if you don't state what your thread is about, example the TPS in your case, some might skip by it while they could have had the knowledge available for you.
Or some others like me don't know **** about TPS, but check out the thread, not knowing what is discussed in case they could help, only to realise they just wasted their time on a vague thread title. So maybe next time, we won't lose our time with those threads and fit in the first category.

All things said, with a bad title like what you put up, you're not helping yourself, and nobody else either, for the sake of the search function.
