well, even though its not a honda, we built an intake for a 89 firebird and that **** is loud as ***. we used a K&N filter and PVC. we also sprayed the tubing with high temp paint. i just want to build a better intake than that. i heard there is a certain tubing u can buy.

let me say you never ever ever use pvc for your custom intake, the pvc will release harmful (toxic) gases when heated my the engine. The gases from the pvc pipe will get sucked up into the intake manifold then into the a/f mixture and can cause the fuel mixture to pre-maturely ignite causing major internal damage to the engine. I would just buy a intake , or if you really want to make a intake your self there is d.i.y in h-t just do a search.

go to a custom muffler shop(not you adverage CarX ect) ask for some manderal bent piping at atleast 2inch. Get a few pices. Go to the hobby shope and get some ceramic coat paint and another choice of paint color you want to color it.
and swing over to the hardware store to get some rubber connector tubes and c-clamps. get a filter (apexi or K&N)
-measure
-pice up together
-paint with ceramic coat
-paint with you choice of color
-install and call it a day.

By breather I assume you mean bypass valve made by KN. You only need one if you think your CAI will suck up water (depends if your region gets deep puddles, ect) but you dont need one on a short ram.

Just be sure to have all the nipples for it. You will need one for the PCV and possibly one more.

there's no wire attached to it..
only a tiny hose(low pressure)
dont even bother to drill a hole if you want to diy it.
just grab a ricey breather filter thing..
