Default Bad Info on this forum.

Hey guys i received some bad info from a couple of you
guys, when i asked if my stock 99Si springs and shocks
would fit on my 89CRX. According to some of you the rear
shocks would fit without a problem, and the fronts would
fit, but I would have to buy some forks from the 92+civic.
Well i tried the swap this weekend and nothing fit. The
rears would not fit at all at the bottom of the shock.
The stock shock is too narrow for the CRX's LCA, so
that didnt' work.
And the fronts were too long for it to fit the lower
bolt that goes on the fork.
Although I appreciate all the info i receive from you
guys, I would appreciate it if you could only give info
on things that you actually know work, and not just
info on things you think might work, because i wasted
all day Sunday with this project and ended up putting
everything back the way it was.
I'm upset and dissapointed in this forum.

you've hit on something.. i think many people give advice based on what they hear others say.. good rule of thumb is to preface a statement with "i think" if you aren't sure.. sorry to hear that.. i know how it feels... trust me..

your 99 Si springs won't fit...too bad for you.
Plus, the rates and heights woul dhave been such that you wouldn't have been pleased with the final result...remember thatn the Si weighs ALOT more than your car, and isn't stiffly sprung in the first place. You're best off buying products that are designed for your application.

You have to take information with a grain of salt..look at who is posting it and think about why they would know. For example, if you have actually read any of XtraFastCRX's posts in the past, you would realize that alot of what he says comes straight out of his ***. Therefore You should probably look for other opinions from people who seem to actually have experiance in what you are trying to do, or who are at least decently competant.

Yeah, you're right Sonic. It's just that i had them
laying around and decided to put them to use. But you
live and you learn. I should of done more research and
found out from someone more experienced if it would fit.

Does anyone know how i can just make the shocks fit??

Whatever happened to just getting in there and trying something? If it does not work , at least you tried. It sounds to me like your scolding some of these guys because what they said was not 100% accurate. Most of these guys are hobbyist just trying to help. Most of us old guys who do this for a living DON'T give information away. We are just like doctors and lawyers, you pay us for what we know; not what we do.
I'll get off my soapbox now , but remember, get in there and try. That is how you will learn the most.
