Motor mount question
I know that aftermarket motor mounts are generally stiffer than stock, and the helps keep the engine in place, but what good does this actually do??
does it help acceleration, or handling, or what??
also, i dont know if you have heard of the "window urethane" trick, but if any of you have experienced it first hand, does it make the car vibrate a lot more, and how safe is it??

I guess you use window urethane (kind of a glue/epoxy stuff from what i ahve heard) and you let it dry in your motor mounts, and it dries really hard, so it works like a hard motor mount insert.
I dunno if all this is true, but my friend told me that he did that trick on one of his cars, so this is what i think you do.

http://www.homemadeturbo.com has explanations on the urethane window sealant stuff.
I just did the motor mount inserts... and they stiffen up the engine A LOT.. this reduces wheel hop and trasfers power to the ground more efficiently and quickly.
It's REALLY REALLY rattley right now though and I didn't even do the rear mount. but it'll probobly lighten up after they break in.
and just fyi... the inserts are ONLY the lower mounts not the two upper mounts that you can see from the top on engine. to change these mounts you have to get at them from under the car and it's kinda a bitch but as with honda... not that bad.

I think I will do the home-made route.
How hard is it to remove motor mounts, and If I do them one at a time, can I leave the engine in while I am doing it (the car will be parked and not driven of course)

would you recommend them for a daily driver, or would they cause too much vibration??
Also, what brand would you recommend, i have a 97 ex coupe with d16y8 motor.
Thanks!!

i got the es mounts and love them...they are definatley ok with street driving unless ur a baby about it. the vibration is noticeable but its really not that bad...the steering wheel will vibrate a good amount tho. definatley go with the es mounts.
