Default shifter bushing question

hey, im replacing my stock bushings with the ES shifter bushings and i have a question. the bushing that mounts right under the shifter ( rectangular looking one ) how tight are you suposed to tighten the bolts? cause they feel tight right now but the bushing is squished, is it suposed to be like this or am i doing something wrong? and another thing am i suposed to use that black metal piece that covers the stock bushing? thanks

i think there is suppose to be a washer that keeps the bushing from being squashed

It isn't really a washer is is more like a bushing inside the bushing. THey are metal collars. you will find them in your stock bushing.

I highly recommend a threadlocker on that bolt. I've had that bolt get undone twice and I torqued it to spec too. I was stuck in gear and had to limp it home with the stabilizer bar dragging on the ground.

smart guy, remember we kept tightening it and the bushing kept getting compressed? then we remembered there was a ring that came out of the stock one!
