DC Sports Headers...Ceramic Versus SS?
Was wondering which is better, ceramic or SS? Also, i have a 96 dx, non-vtec, and was wondering if dc sports headers for a 96 EX would fit on my Dx...since they are both F22 engines.
I would go with the ceramic because of a couple reasons. Like my man before me said, it's cheaper and performs the same plus a friend of mine has the DC sport stainless headers on his 2000 civic and has had them for quite some time (don't know exactly how long) and I looked under his hood last sunday and they looked "bronze". The stainless eventually turns this color. The ceramic I have on my car (95 accord wagon ex) and I don't think they turn. (hasn't been but 3 months though)
The EX and DX are NOT compatible like he also said.

ceramic, and thermal wrap....the wrap looks kinda ugly put it helps cool donw your enigine bay...which is important if youve got a short ram intake.
the ceramic is cheaper and it helps a little bit in keeping the heat outta the engine bay.
you can polish the stainless ones to get rid of that bronze color.

I have DC sports ceramic on my 97 EX. Going on two years and the header still looks great. A little rust on the mounting flange where the welds are but it is not bad. It comes off with a little wire brushing but eventually comes back.
Last spring I leaned into my engine compartment after an hour drive. The headers were hot and I put my arm on them without thinking. The sleeve on my jacket which was made of some kind of synthetic material like nylon or polyester melted instantly. The headers had a big gooey mess all over them. I was really pi$$ed. I never thought it would come off. After driving for about 1 hour to my house the first thing I did was pop the hood to let them cool so I could start cleaning. I was surprised to see that all that goop had burnt off and left only a little ash which came right off.

Same here. I have the DC ceramic for 26 months, and a little rust contamination on the flanges, especially close to the studs. I am not very careful about the aspect of the header, so it has a few scratches and stains, but I don't care, opening my hood to everyone for show is not my bag. Anyways, it's always filthy with all the driving.
i have a DC SS for my h22. looked pretty good for the first 2 weeks, now (after about 3 months of use) it looks like SH*T! when i pop my hood all you see is this brown header with a DC plate on it. oh yea, the flange part of the header where it connects to the head is also all rusted so it basically looks like crap. you wouldnt even know that its a DC unless you saw the plate DC welded on it. the sad thing is that i barely drive my car, its only got 2900 miles since i got the motor put in and thats including break-in and tuning.
i say go for ceramic, doesnt look as good but at least after 3 months it'll still look the same as when you bought it.

Stainless Steel headers are like a symbol of rainbow pride or something. First, they start to go purple/rainbowish, then they start to go brown. Ceramic all the way man.
Someone posted earlier about an O2 sensor location. Solution to problem - Cut wires, get longer wires and splice them in by soldering and using heat shrink wrap.

Ceremic=cheaper, cooler temp.
I have ceremic, but i heard some ceremic paint will crack.
I highly recommend you to warp it with thermo tec header warp,
it keep the hood cool, looks mummifed but hey..
performance over fashion.

I did the same to mine, just get the right guage of wire, wrap it up good, make sure goo solder connection, not let it touch the hot spot of the engine, tranny.
I make my extra long to go around the tb.

the yellow plastic wrap is my extened o2 sensor's cord.
and the header wrap-2inchx50inch
