putting it on my jdm b18c into an ef and I am worried about ground clearance.

 

my old USDM Mugen 4-1 hung lower than my JDM 4-1. I dont remember how much lower, but it was lower.

 

anyone else?

 

From what I recall, just about all 4-1s hang low besides the Toda

 

IM Brian. He has one on his R. Think he's selling it, actually.

Anyhoo, he could tell you how low it hangs.

 

ive heard that the mugen does hang lower, but never experienced this myself

 

it hangs low - but you only have to worry if your car is slammed and if you drive like an idiot over irregular roads and speedbumps

 

I've been told that mine hangs pretty low (no pun intended )

 

last i checked, toda wasnt 4-1.

All 4-1 headers i have seen hang lower than the honda 4-1

 

the problem is that I drive a 1991 civic, where a b18c hangs lower than it does in an ITR. My ride height is about stock.

 

what mounts are you using?

 

mine is low as hell but not lower than the mugen B-pipe on the twin loop exhaust. I owned my mugen header once but got it fixed good as new

 

i am using HCP mounts

 

i know with hasport mounts the ground clearance isnt THAT big of an issue

 

My mistake, I was just thinking of 2.5" collector headers

 

Do you already own this header? If not, you might want to consider something with a larger collector, and at the same time you could look into a 4-2-1 to reduce the clearance problem. Probably a moot point since it sounds like you have the Mugen already, but that would be my suggestion.

 

i do indeed already have a mugen 4-1 and a jdm 4-1 (came with the motor).

i have been looking at the comptech 4-2-1. I think it has a 2.25 inch collector, but makes as much power as the other two headers.

Anyone interested in a usdm mugen 4-1?
