Default first time to track in b16 rex

Tonight was my first time at the track with my 1990 crx with a b16a1. I have dc header, intake, and exhaust with 2.25 piping. Everything else is stock. Oh and full interior and I ran on 13" stocks. My best time was:

Reaction: 1.144

I1: 2.357
I2: 6.373
I3: 9.640
MPH (I3) 75.567

E.T.: 14.877
MPH: 93.457

Other times consist of 14.915@92.932, 14.979@92.937, 15.08@93.469, 15.092@93.102, and 15.030@93.686.

I know I need some better wheels, need to work on my reaction time, and need to work on my 60' time, but any feedback, opinions, or suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

With drag radials and open header you have yourself a 13 sec rex there. Keep practicing...go on the last amber light....rev to 6-7K and dump the clutch (on drags) lift for the first shift to second and then keep it floored from 2-3 and 3-4. Dont wait till you hit the limiter, start shifting about 1-200 rpm before the limiter. Make the shifts quick and smooth.

Good luck

With a 93mph trap speed he is not gonna be anywhere near a 13 with drag radials and open header. He needs at least another 5mph

He cut a 2.3 60' full exhaust I would imagine dropping the 60' to a 1.9-2.0 and going open header would drop a good 4.5-5.5 tenths so say a 14.8 - 5.5 = 14.25 with a little practice I think he could squeeze a few tenths out...he is most likely looking for a 13.99 and on slicks he could do it with enough practice.

Gotta give him something to shoot for. (although judging by his trap speed he needs to go to the dyno and make a little more power)

Hey thanks for the inspiration. I like those figures.
I Don't have the finances to do a whole lot to my car right now cause the motor kinda wiped me out. But I am planning on getting it dyno tuned after a few more mods. Anybody have any suggestions on other mods? I'm thinking of going with CTR cams and valve springs but I'm not sure yet.

True, don't let anyone say it can't be done You took a big step in running a 14 which alot of people never do. Everyone told me I couldn't run a 13.9 with a stock b16 and look at me! .......ok so I didn't do it but I got close enough

Did you go today (30th)?? If yes i was there, saw a black CRX and one with gray primed rear bumper. I was going to race my hatch for the first time but i didn't have enough money. Then they wouldn't let me run anyway cuz i was wearing shorts and you have to wear long pants. Seams like every week they come up with something new to enforce and then no one shows up.

I went to speedworld on Wednesday the 29th. There weren't many people there so I got in a lot of runs.

Nice, I was just wondering what is was down there in AZ. It would be nice to be in low elevation and not way UP here in UT where I am.

Yes I am from AZ and I went to speedworld. It was my first time ever going to the track and my buddies are more familiar with speedworld so I went there. I don't think I would want to race for money yet cause I'm not quick enough yet, but I do want to check out Firbird sometime.

That sounds like a good idea, but I havn't seen too many people on here from AZ either. We should still try to get something set up sometime though.
