Default 4-spd to 5-spd

wonderin if any of yall have run into any problems swappin out the dx 4sp tranny for the si tranny? ive got a dx i got for 300 bucks and put on the mpfi and most of the other si parts..now im just missin the tranny....Just wonderin if theres anything i should look out for before i start rippin this "beast" apart agian.

no...the stupid motha ***** that had the car before me put an std tranny in there......so basically i dont have a dx..i have a kit car....

Last time I checked a 4spd is a manual......
I wouldnt see any problems swapping them as long as you get everything to go with the 5spd meaning clutch flywheel etc...But then again that all might be the same you can do a search and see but you will want a 5spd ECU.

find a Si 5spd tranny and depending on the year of tranny get the same year clutch and flywheel

ok so ill need the clutch and flywheel....hmm...ill just save up a bit ore and get a lightened flywheel and dual friction clutch.....that was expected....but what was the deal with the 5spd ecu?

(it was a 4spd manual)

no you can use your same clutch and flywheel if the year of the trans is non 88 and your car is non 88

no seriously , you can put any dx tranny on it. sohc 92-95 96-00
