hello, new to the board (been reading it for about 2 weeks, first post) Check the site for information about what's wrong could not find any.

I have a 1993 accord LX 4 door (170K f22a1 Stock) the cluch went out, so we towed it up to the house to put a new one it (note to self drop the engine next time to!) we got it all back in but now the shifter just goes side to side from 1st to 3rd gear slots (my father took the shifter box on top of the trans off to get the engine out he for got to put it in reverse like the book says ( we have the haynes book). we dubble check if everything is put back together right and we dont see another way to putt it back together. do you think this is the problem or could it be something else? (it's been a week without my accord! I want it back hehe)

sounds wierd, wish i could help..try other forums as well but dont state what kind of car it is uless asked. you're more likely to get help that way

duh, i over looked a key item once again

 

might be missing the actual shifter bushing, but i'm not sure that the cable accord tranny's have that, when i had my swap done nothing like that ever happened
