don't know too much about running on street tires.. i would have to guess and say try setting your tire pressure at about 20lbs and play with it from there. + or - it all depends on the track and track temp. try to drive around the water box if you are running street tires. reason being is that you are just going to drag all that water with you up to the starting line within your tread.
60 ft is important but just get used to driving on the track and it is all about practice. go to the track every friday night or when ever your local test and tunes are and just run the car. make notes if you have to and see where your car likes to be launched and what tire pressure and things of that nature.
as far as slicks... what do you have done to your car? how much power are you putting down and what motor and trans are in the civic?

he's saying 20 psi (pounds per square inch) and with 140 hp and maybe a none lsd tranny it's pointless putting slicks on... if you do get 13".... what do you have in your single cam? mines was built and i only pushed out 147 hp
well if you wanted to run slick i would say go with no bigger than a 22x8x13. you should be able to spin those. but as far as improving in the 1/4 mile... just take your car to the track every chance you get and just try new things and make notes on what worked and what didn't. i'm sorry i can't be of more help. i haven't ran a street trim car in years.

what have you done 2 your sohc ?! 147 HP is OK !!.. whta parts ??
so i should not worry about slicks ?? since im fare from 140 WHP !..?

if you are below 140HP to the wheels.. I'd suggest trying the 20x8x14 first and get used to that. pushing 13x22x8 is a bit tricky and you have to know what you are doing. there are going to be some factors that you need to take care of if you want to run the 22x8x13 with only that much HP.. one would be.. pump up the slick normal than usual.. since most likely, you'll have to focus more on that slick being as pumped up as possible so it can roll at the end of the track.. or else you wont be able to push it at the top end... ya understand?
