anyone resleeve their d series?
Im thinking about going 0.5mm over, i just wanted to get a sense for how much it costs to get it resleeved, I even read some posts about how someone on their bseries just bored out the cylinders to 82mm (bseries is 81mm) without resleeving. I'll be N/A, so naturally i'll be high compression and the like. Just some thoughts on straight out boring w/o resleeving and prices of the resleeving and boring would be helpul, thanks!
you actually dont have to resleeve with just a .5 mm overbore. its best overall if you have the money.. but 75.5 mm bore isnt that big of a bore. we actually have cast pistons available for that size... start sleeving if over a 75.5mm bore.... you can go up to 79mm
Wil
btw: sleeving services are $880 and includes the bore(to your specified size), hone, hot tank and step deck.

would a block guard be a good investment with a 0.5 mm over bore? The only reason im checking this out is because Im going to purchase d16a1 pistons within the next few months, but the more research I do it seems less and less vital to actually resleeve, maybe hone at the most, but even then, that depends on the walls condition. I haven't actually opened up my engine, but its jdm so it supposedly has under 50k so the walls can't be too bad i suppose

"If you do get a block guard, install it the proper way. get it welded in place, then rebore your cylinders and redeck your block, So their will be no cylinder distortion. Lots of people pop their heads off and just pound these things in. When they really dont do ****." -JEFF
also the top of your cylinder is the hottest part and having a block gaurd in there reduces cooling capabilities.
