All H series knock senors the same
I know the 5th gen knock has a different plug. But do they all (H23, H22A1, H22A4) knock senors do pretty much the same thing? would a H23 knock work on a H22A4?

no the plugs from an OBDI car are NOT the same as an OBDI car, you would ahve to cut and splice, although the knock sensor will screw into the block on either cars.
