engine bay painting?
I painted mine with black BBQ paint. It worked really well, dried mad fast, and holds up like a champ. Clean the engine bay down with like wd40 or some kind of cleaner. I just used wd.....Then go to town with the paint. BLack does look tight though. Yea. Take as much out as you can...And mask stuff so it looks good.
What I did was mask all the areas that you dont want to get painted. Then I clean the surface as best as you can with a degreaser or cleaner of some sort. I decided use a flat black primer, since I primer essential sticks to any surface no problem. Spray it with the primer, and bam...done. Looks awesome IMO, alot better than teal. Had it on the car now for 3 years, no problems. Good luck
Well I didnt have to prep nothing. I just cleaned it the sprayed away. I could understand prepping it to spray a regular type paint, say high temp paint, gloss black, or even the color of your car paint etc etc. But this was a flat black primer. Bitch sticks great. I am not autobody guru, but this has held up in my engine bay for 3 years now without any sign of chipping anything of the sort. The key is just to clean it well. I even did this while the engine was in the car! I imagine it would be quite simple without the engine in. Either way, you could prep it. I was just to lazy. But like I said, its last for over three years, in extreme hot, cold, humid, dry temps.
