Default Tanabe Super Hyper Medalion!!!!

I was just lookin into Catalytic Converters for my car, and I was wondering what I need. A 2.25" inch Cat or a 2.5" inch Cat? I have a Tanabe Super Hyper Medalion exhaust on my car and was wondering if it was a 2.25 or a 2.5 inch.

If you have any info, let me know! Thanks!

Someone said its 60mm, which is closer to 2.32 inch? I'm not sure...

Either way... i think a 2.5" inch Cat would be better... right?

depends on your header. is it the JDM or USDM? my guess is USDM with has 2" collector. so get 2.25" in/out cat. your tanabe is 60mm=2.36" OD. but ID is almost 2.25". personally i'd tell you to upgrade and get 2.5" header/cat/exhaust system. you're choking your motor especially running Skunk2 1's.

i know! LOL. should have thought out your plans better. with plans for ITR cams/valvetrain, i'm going with a 2.5" h/c/e setup. just got me a used DC JDM for 200 and a used carsound for 100. now when i have the money i'm gonna get custom mandrel exhaust. i'm probably going to order one from a guy on here, KTELLER8, and get it welded. the total for me will be 370. plus whatever the muffler shop will charge me. anywhere from $50 to $100.

200+100+370= $670 + welding. so i say SELL it!. LOL. BTW, i'm selling my Tanabe, click in sig.

Do you guys really think the exhaust is that restrictive? Its 2.3 and change almost 2.5.Atleast compared to all the other exhuast that are out there?Because I really love this exhaust, its alot quieter then my Greddy Evo,looks better, and has excellent build quality.

yea yea, didnt u just post about buying that gamecube/dvd player combo thingy? j/p. but u should sell your setup to the guy who offered, and really upgrade to a 2.5" system. **** the IM, switch out to a 2.5" header and cat at least. then u can get the carsound with the 2.5 collector and 2.25" exit. (im positive your dynos will be stronger as well)

Get a 2.5'' cat...its better to go bigger than smaller. 2.5'' is the most appropriate size for a 60mm exhaust imo.

if you're just going to stay with bolt-ons then it should be suffice. but if you're upgrading cams, going with 2.5" is better.
