anybody use 90-93 teg axles with y1 ?
Has anyboyd here successfully used the 90-93 teg axles with the sir int. shaft and y1 tranny? I got the y1 and put the 90-93 axles on there, and they vibrate like a mother.... Is there a way to get them to work, or do you have to make them/buy them (86-89) style?
if you have the JDM intermediate shaft, then the 90-91 axle will definatly bind like your experiancing. I have a y1 shaft myself, so I run a 90-91 on my passengers side, and an 86-89 on the drivers side.
I wouldnt even bother trying to make a hybrid axle. You hear people saying that they axle can pop out, but its not going to happen. I can see if you put 86-89 on the passengers side as well, then you would have a problem. But on the drivers side with y1 int shaft, the 86-89 is a perfect fit.

Contrary to popular belief, transmission chocie has no bearing on axle fit. Fitment is the same whether the transmission be a Y1, S1, J1, or YS1. Also, mount kit chocie has little bearing. As for hybrid axles, I do think they are a good choice. They are a perfect fit every time. And they do not require removal of the wheel bearing dust seals.
You replied that transmission choice has no bearing on axle fitment. Did i say it did?

rioninga is right the y1 jdm intermediate shaft is slightly longer than jdm s1,j1,a1 shafts , thats why use 86-89 axles on the driver side , i had my axles replaced on my old 90 civic si with b16 with y1 tranny and intermediate shaft , i was so i fustrated i bought 90-93 axles then 86-89 axles finally thanks to placeracing site i found the right mix

i was wondering, what if you use a YS1 tranny, will you still use the same axle combos you use for the Y1? also, what if you use a J1 or S1, would the axle combos still be the same as the Y series trannys?
