hey i found a 98 type R for sale and was thinking about buying it but..
i wanted to know what you guys think of this car? Its a 98 type R with only 18k miles on it, comes with stock wheels and tires and some kosei wheels and tires. I think i can get it for around $18k? Car is really clean and nothing wrong with it.
That's pretty low in miles. Sounds like a good deal. I would go for it after running carfax and a compression test.
where would i go to run a compression test? should i take it to acura? do they charge a lot to inspect a car?

Go take a look at the car, and if it's something you're interested in get the car to an Acura (or Honda) dealer and have them go through it. It'll cost you around $100, but it's money well spent. Any honest person selling a car would have no problem taking it into the dealer so you could have it inspected.
If it's in the Portland area, I'd recommend Acura of Portland, the service guys are great.
Trust your instincts, if it seems shady or that the car was abused, walk away.

Looks like a pretty clean car. I noticed there is no Ac on the car, not sure if it's something you'd need in your area. Also, moved the engine ground strap to the bolt that hold the valve cover down, it's not in the correct place.
