My car is fairly new being a 2k . and when i go to start it up in the cold it seems to turn over 2-3 times before starting up. can anyone tell me why ? is it just the cold weather. also the engine sorta shakes a little when it initially starts. could it be the engine mounts and spark plugs ?

yeap, I live in Florida and my 98 GSR starts fine all year round except for the one or two days that the temperature is 30 degrees and then it turns over a few times and shakes initially....i wouldn't worry about it unless it doesn't stop
