Default How do you have your 404's tuned??

Here's my setup:
b18b block and head mild polish
crower 404 with crower valvetrain
itr pistons
skunk 2 IM
safc

Whats a good place to start tuning it until i get to go to the dyno? What did you set your valve lash at?
cam gears? ignition? safc? anything else i should know or do? They are already in the car, just looking for tuning.

Valve lash stock specs, tight end. I would advance the intake cam +4 and then set the ign timing to 16btdc. Now you can adjust the ex cam(retard) for more overlap without having to set ign timing everytime(like with the intake). I think jinx was running +4, -4. It will really open up the top end and the lope at idle sounds really wicked with those settings. For tuning your safc you could use a voltmeter to tap your O2 sensor signal to get an idea of where the a/f is. It’s not very accurate outside of stoich, but it should get you in the ballpark.

Thanks!!
+/- 4 sound a little extreme, but we'll give it a try! That's some crazy overlap isn't it?? Cant wait to get this thing tuned better!!
