i remembe reading this article about some guy saying that its best to use a light snythetic wax underneath the layer of carnuba in order to have a lasting shine and the deep rich gloss of a carnuba?
i wanted to know if this was true before i waste an hour on it.

I would reccommend Collinite. This wax is tougher to use than most, but the effort is worth it. I used to be a huge Meguiars fan until I used this. My painter uses only this product. He did my car before an indoor show last year and that shizzie was blinging like crazy.
