The extra Hp is rumored to be from better cams in the B18b. I cant remeber the stock comp. ratio of either motor, but that might be another part.

Can you swap the cams, and is it worth it??

Yup, exhaust mani in the newer engines also flow slightly better. The ECU's in the newer car's have better tuning also, results in better mpg and a few more ponies. I swapped 93 cams into my 91 engine and could tell a slight difference.

The specs on the 90-91 model 'teg are 130hp/121tq(B18A), the 92-93 is 140hp/127tq(B18A), and the 94+ is 142hp/127tq. My Haynes manual notes differences in the specs on the cams between those models, mostly in the lift.

The difference is in the cams, intake manifold (bigger runners and plenum), throttle body (2mm bigger), head (bigger ports), and ECU (tuned to take advantage of all these improvements).

Stormin is right, its really a combination of all these things. There are alot of small differences between them.
