will 88 CRX Si seats w/rails bolt into a 89 Civic Si?
Just as the topic says. Will these work? or a Combination of the two (i.e. CRX seat with Hatch rails) Couldn't find anything on search.....
i thought 88 rails were different from 89-91. i could be wrong. i have a set of 91 crx si seats for sale if you are interested. i was going to put them in my 88hatch, rails were different and i was too lazy to modify them. check my sig.
NOT THEY WONT FIT!!! i am sure of this. i have a set of 89 Civic Si seats sitting in teh living room i boght for my 88 CRX and they dont fit. so i dont see how it will work the other way around...

Jungle and Dee-ecks are you folks speaking from experience? Did the entire seat and rail swap over or do you have to use a combination of the two?

....from experince, put 91 CRX Si seats in a 88 CRX Si, the seats will not bolt directly up. Like someone suggested in the previous post, just switch seat pans and everything will be lovely. ie new seats mounted on old seat pan and bolt them in......If anyone needs 91 seat rails/pans......

i was using Civic seats with CRX rails. either way it wont work. the civic seats are like 3 inches narrower, one side sits an inch higher than the other. list goes on....

irev210 is right. same thing happened to me, i got lazy and just gave up.
They won't fit! I have tried everything from CRX Si, Integra 1st gen, integra 3 rd gen. They wont' fit, and won't bolt up! I have an 89 civic and I know that 88-89 civic seats are narrower, and the 90-91 are wider, which means, it's easier to put seats into 90-91 civics, or CRX. The only ones, that will fit perfect are 89 civic Si, or 88-89 JDM SiR seats (I got them, and I love it!).
Perfect fit
OK, here is TRUE information.
First, the 88 seats are wider by 5/8". Meaning the brackets are 5/8" inch farther appart than the 89-91 seats.
Second, the bolts DO NOT line up.
Third, the 88 CRX has the seat belt bracket attached to the floor of the car. The 89-91 has it built into the seat rail.
Now, that does not mean it can't be done. I have 88 CRX seats on a 90 CRX.
I had to grind, slot, cut, drill and after 4 hours I had both seats on the car.
Also, keep in mind that the bottom of the setas are not the same. So even if you use the 89-91 brackets, the seats are not going to sit perfectly level.
I had to use a few washers and longer bolts to get the seats to fit evenly,
perfect fit my %^ss
O.k. well I've heard of someone saying that you can use the cusion and material but just swap over the pan of the seat (metal piece the rails bolt to) can anyone confirm this and provide more detail/how-to?
They WILL NOT WORK. I have a pair of mint condition Si seats that I want to swap into my hatch. They are not sitting in my living room because I need furniture. The rails on the civic are farther apart and they bolt to the floor differntly. I've tried swapping the seat pans and rails and that didn't even work. You can either get some custom brackets or Civic Si seats.
The reason the seat pans won't work is that frame to the Si seat back is different. It won't connect to the civic seat pan. The side bracket will not line up.

i agree with zc_crx...
88 crx si seats will not fit into an 89 civic si. i could have had an 88 crx si pass seat, but it doesn't fit.
i am pretty sure civic and crx seats are different no matter what year...
