cam gear setting to remove ITR overlap
I have a 98 ITR with a jrsc plus Jim's stepper pulley (8-9psi). I've heard that ITR cams have too much overlap for forced induction. If I leave my timing at stock how much should I adjust the intake and exhaust cams? How much power would I gain? Everything else is stock except an AEM CAI. I know each car is different, but I was wondering what you guys with similiar set ups have done. I don't have a good dyno tuner available.
A good starting point would be -2 on the intake, +2 on the exhaust. I am sure it would need alot better adjustment than what i mentioned, but i dialed out most of the overlap with my gsr cams. You could even possible take it too -4 on the intake, and +3 on the exhaust since there is that much more on the itr cams.
Thanks for the info, guys. I was wondering how much power will I gain from dialing out the overlap? Is it worth the money? Cam gears are cheap, but I will have to pay for the work.
