difference between Si front strut bar and the DX front strut bar ??
i went to my local accesories store and ordered a ractive front strut bar for my 89 civic dx. the guy asked me what model and i told him they SHOULD all have the same part no. and the guy said no and i took a look and he was right!
so whats the diff between the Si and DX strut bars ???
oh yeah i'd appreciate it if someone replies to this right away cuz i need to tell the guy to just get an Si front strut bar for me cuz i'm converting to mpfi and i'm thinking the int manifold might be in the way of the strut bar.

Well I know that the SI bar on a DX kinda pushes the DPFI cover down quite a bit. The DX will hump a little higher. Should work with either DPFI or MPFI. Are you sure was looking at 88-91 DX never seen one really seen 92+
oh ok so no need to change my order since all its going to do is give me slightly more room between the intake manifold and the strut bar. nothing wrong with that as long as it doesn't hit the hood.......right ??!
shouldn't be any problems with that. You can accually use front bar from 90-00 tegs or 88-00 civic as long as they mount to the upper strut post and not below them like CTR or ITR bars

The DPFI bar is not straight across. It routes in front of (not above) the DPFI black box that is on top of the TB.
On the MPFI models, the intake manifold is in that area and the TB mounts to the side of it (not on top like the DPFI) so they run the bar straight across because they have no clearance issues.

so should i tell them to order an Si strut bar or a DX since i'm converting to mpfi when spring arrives.

well is it better to have the strut bar just straight across ?? does it really matter whether its straight or not i mean they're designed to perform the same...right?
i do want to put it on right away

i had this same problem....if you order an si strut bar and you have a dx with DPFI then you're fuked....the strut bar will hit the DPFI......
the dx strut bar goes behind the DPFI almost touching the firewall

yeah let's see a pic! i've never seen a DX strut bar before only the Si.
is that dpfi box in the way so if you were to try and put on an Si strut bar that you wouldn't to bolt it down on the strut towers ?? is that how bad it is.
