Default ATT: GReddy turbo owners (leaking oil return line!!!)

Okay the rubber hose that came with the kit seems to go bad quick and is leaking oil. Instead of replacing with new rubber hose, what can I do to fix it so it won't leak again???

where is it leaking from? i havent heard of any problems with the line. did you thermal wrap it well? I used an 8mm socket to torque down the hose clamps that clamp the hose to the turbo / oil pan and hold on the thermal wrap.

dish out a little more $$ and get steel braided line. then make sure all your connections are tight. then you dont have to worry about the line melting or deteriorating etc. good luck with your car

Here is your answer, this is for the TDO5H-18G turbo. it might differ for the TD-O4H turbos, but i think i solved that as well in there.

to be honest i hear of a lot more problems with stainless steel braided lines than the rubber hose with thermal wrap. mainly stuff like the braids coming out of the fittings on the end. and SS doesnt have the thermal isolation of the thermal wrap. i think its overkill with this application.

since its not a pressurized line, there is no need for stainless steel braided lines. unless you have a lot of people looking under your car and you're trying to impress them.

I'm ressurecting this thread because im starting to have the same exact problem with my GReddy kit. I noticed a little bit of oil on my driveway. I took a look and my thermal wrap was soaked in oil. I havent taken a better look since then, but can anyone point me to a website with some really good high temp hoses. I think the prices of steel braid is crazy, plus I would have to get new fittings if I wanted to switch.

I am having a similar problem, but the fitting that goes into the block seems to be leaking very slowly. Where can i get the fitting that will fit into the block.

Its a 3 way fitting that goes into the block, and out to the oil pressure switch, and out again to the oil feed line.

Thanks

My greddy oil return hose is cracked at the top where it hooks to the turbo... i guess from the heat... and there was thremo wrap on it... but now its leaking oil... uhmm should i replace it or what.. the greddy hose has a bend in it and there is some type of metal tube that helps renforce it i guess... would i be ok just buying some hose from are auto shop or do i need some pressure hose......thanks

I dont have a greddy kit but I have the same problem. I upgraded to a T04 E from a B and now its spitting oil everywhere. It seems to just go right through the hose like its made of paper. I have tried numerous of hoses from high temps to pressurized and none of them seem to work. today I will try the stell braided hose and earls fittings. Hopefully itll work.
