Default Leaking hatch window

I did searches but found nothing on this topic.

My CRX leaks water when it rains from either side of the hatch window. I thought it would be the seals, so when I took it to a Honda place to get other work done, they didn't think it was the seals. But when they looked at it they couldn't find the problem at all.

its a 90 dx.

any help would be much appreciated.

its a frustrating problem cuz Honda couldn't figure it out. i don't want to spend the cash to get someone else to look at it too, cuz then all i'm doing is paying labour cost without the problem being fixed. i'm sick of everything getting wet. oh grrr

HELP!

Good luck, its just one of those things with an older car. I guess you could go buy some caulking and take out the intioir plactic and seal around it and hope that works. Best of luck, and let us know if you figure anything out.

If its leaking from the front glass, then just reseal the top part. Thats your best chance and its pretty easy to do.

Other folks have traced this problem to clogged sunroof drain tubes. The water then runs along the headliner until it comes out at the rear hatch. When I was stripping my CRX to race, I found one of the drain tubes completely full of water.

a dx won't have a sunroof, so that is probably not her problem.

here are some topics to look through:

if you have a rear windshield squirter, it can come in from there, too.

On my '90 STD, I kept finding puddles in the rear where the spare tire is. It ended up being the taillights leaking. I just sealed them up with some silicone and no more leaking.

I've also seen this problem on several other friend's hatches. Just look in your taillights after a hard rain and see if there's water inside. When I noticed it, I wasn't even looking for the leak.

on my car it seems like the side view mirrors are allowing water to come in but i dont see water there....its strange though cuz it only happens on whichever side of the car is faceing up the hill when its parked sideways. im guessing the sideviews are leaking but i guess when its warmer ill try to use some caulking and fix the prob. anyone know if CRX or hatch side views fit a sedan? i want some diff imrrors and they really only make the other styles for a crx or hatch and not my car.

I am having this problem too. I noticed that the gasket had broken. where did you seal? On the tail light - car interface?
