Well i have to ask u what forum you are on? I think u should keep the R. If u give the R back then go out and buy u a CW ITR. They are a little cheaper plus i always loved the CW ITR.
Vettes are garbage. A friend of mine bought a 2001 and hated every second with it. Poor manufactoring was his biggest dislike. Everytime he would drop the top it would scrape a little paint off the rear. He took it to the dealership and they said they would repaint it until his warrenty is up since it was one of the many manufactoring defects for that year.... Keep the R!!

keep the R. the vette is nothing but headaches.......
-Dave, whose father did and had 0 major problems with it.
Let me rephrase that...
Any older car will cause and have more maintance then a newer car- Its just a given.
Especially if the miles and age is higher.
But the good thing about owning a Chevy is the parts are very availbe and somewhat inexspensive.

Hehe 454ci of bad attitude..... heheheh go for the vette man stand out from the crowd. Screw the riceboy opinions. Do whatever you feel you want to it's YOUR money.
A modified ITR is likely to be faster than a stock Vette of that vintage
Look at car-stats.com at a 69 vette. Its fast. And remember, those numbers are on old shitty rubber. Strap on a set of S03's and that thing stock should pull low 13's high 12's. Quite a bit faster than mid 14's
edit: I just looked at another site that has a 1970 454 vette with a 7 second 0-60, so I dont know...

Do what I did, I was leasing my 01 R...I had a manager at the dealership work it where they bought the car from me, then sell it back to me as a certified used car: 7yr/100k bumper-bumper warranty and 4.9% APR.
Also, 18k is not bad price for a 01 R, you could probably not find a used 2001 for that if you think of it that way.
