It's time to define a color scheme for the rest of my engine's exposed parts. The valve cover and Skunk2 intake manifold are powdercoated a dark gray with a glossy clear coat...I was hoping they'd be more of a dark gunmetal and had planned to do a silver fuel rail and cam gears, but I'm not sure how that'd look on this color. The valve cover and plastic timing belt cover are being shipped to PMP Designs for moon cutting, so the timing gears will be exposed...planning the new GE gears for this.



A forum member of the website I run is attempting to design a carbon fiber spark plug cover for me off of my OEM's plastic one's design. It should turn out like this...



Do you think I should do black, titanium, or silver gam gears, oil cap, and fuel rail?




This is in the FI forum because this is my project B18C turbo build. I've got Darton sleeves and will be doing JE custom pistons + Eagle rods soon.

Silver everything........it'll go with the lettering on the cover and contrast the grey cover/manifold well.

You can never go wrong with classic black. Silver might look good also.

If you choose to use a color similar to, but not identical to, your valve cover, it will look off. So don't go with titanium.

 

I'm thinking the black will compliment the carbon fiber nicely, so that's prolly what I'll do.

Does anyone know of a black anodized oil cap with no text on it?
