Default bhp gain by looseing cat on my civic vti

anyone know if looseing the cat is a good idea 4 extra bhp?

depends on your mods, whats your setup...

if stock i wouldn't even bother, if you've got i/h/e i would just get a larger diameter aftermarket cat. me and my friends found no difference between having a civic cat and having a 2" test pipe on my civic w/mini-me setup. it ran the same times in the quarter and didn't feel like it did anything but make the car sounds a little different. on higher horsepower cars i could see possibly removing the cat. an exhasut shop only cahrges about $20 to get a test pipe so give it a shot, it can't hurt.
