anyone ever installed a JDM b16 from a 92 integ RSI into a 91 civic dx hatch?
Technically the motor is considered a 2nd gen motor, however, i believe that it is still obd and not obd1 right? DOHC is bigger than vtec on valve cover. Grey connectors on engine harness, but it has the ys1 cable type tranny, and i have a pr3 ecu. the code under the B16A logo starts with a 1xxxxxx... the question i have is about the wiring on this thing... what would be the best route to go with?
does this motor fall under the obd1 category? I do have the PR3 ecu which is still obd. i also switched out the distributor for a 1st gen jdm b16a dist with white connectors. so what i have now is the complete harness (grey connectors) from the JDM motor. It was cut behind the engine fuse box that sits on the strut tower. My full stock DX harness(milky white connectors) also the multi port harness with resistor box(milky white connectors)from a mpfi civic SI...
i ve read so many diffrent instructions that i am now having a tempoary brain fart as far as the wiring is concerned...Can some knowledgeable hybrid heads offer any help? i know that i can do this but i dont know what the best course of action to take would be at this point. thanx in advance....

sounds like you've got all the parts. Make sure you've got a 1st gen exhaust mani with (2) 1 wire O2 sensors. Also the make sure the ECT is located on the back of the block near the oil filter instead of on the thermostat housing like the 2nd gens.
thanks... my exhaust manifold has a single 4 wire O2 sensor...so what are my options other than an aftermarket header? can i wire everything up using the existing manifold? and what is ECT? sorry for the dumb question.
thanx

You will need to use your stock harness and convert it to MPFI using some wiring from the extra harnesses and the resistor box. You'll need to use an OBD0 B16 distributor or 90-91 Integra LS modified one, any OBDO injectors and the OBD0 PR3 or PW0 ECU. That should get you started and if you need any help just let me know.
Yes I have but it was a 92 Integra XSi, I've never heard of an RSi.

Its the same motor you have 92 rsi with the grey connectors.
So should i just take the SI Injector harness(resistor box and full connectors included) and just use the other 4 wires from the sensors that are allready intact on the current b16 that arent already on the SI wiring loom?
am i making any sense?
im trying to follow the dpfi to mpfi instructions while doing a swap. but the exhaust manifold only has one (dual wire)o2 sensor.... on the new motor....(why? b'cuz its basically a 2nd gen jdm b16 motor sitting on a cable tranny going into a obd0 motor w/pr3 ecu)
MPFI instructions say that if you have a SI injector loom that you can pretend your car is an SI and just add the other four necessary wires.
I think i will be better off if i just mod the SI and DX harness, while just using the b16 harness for spare wire and for the connectors that go on the motor.???
yea or nay?
i dont want to pay hasport 300 hundred bucks to do the same thing im trying to do....
