Default CRX si

How much would a 1990 CRX si engine would normally cost? I got a junkyard selling one for $1000 and have a mechanic do it for $400. The engine has approx. 60-80k miles. Would this be good to set up with a turbo kit? Pls let me know what are my options to make this engine go fast. This would be a daily driven CRX. Should I also go ALL motor or Turbo?

300 max. i mean it shouldn't be anymore than that for the engine, and for that price you can get a tranny too. anyways about the rest of your question you can search all over the place on this site and find the answers you want. it all depends on how fast you wanna go and how much you wanna spend. if you want like 250 horsepower range i would say not to stick with a d series motor.

1,000 is way to much, you could almost buy a b16 for that.

I said this earlier this week too, but last friday I sold one for $100, and a couple days after that I sold one for $50. These were both perfectly running engines, but there was no space for them after engine swaps. If you keep your eye on the hybrid forum you might be able to catch someone who is swapping out a A6 and selling it for cheap.

For $1000 dollars you are getting raped. call up nippon motors they can get jdm sohc zc's with relatively low miles for around $300.
