Default Hot Cold dial for heater/ac broke. How to replace?

Anybody ever fix one of these? It's stuck on cold and I can't get the windows defrosted. Is this an expensive thing to fix? Labor and parts wise?

Is the dial broken? or will it move but just no temp. change? If the dial is broken, they just pop off and you put a new one on. If there is no temp. change when you turn the dial, sounds like your temp. cable is broken. Look underneath the glove box on the passenger side. You will see a cable attached to a white box?!? This cable is what controls your temp. You will need to see if it is sticking. Tuen your temp. dial and see the cable moves. If it doesn't that's your problem.

The **** is fine. It feels like it works part of the way, then it turns real easy. (like it's not doing anything.) I'd be happy just to turn it all the way to the right for heat. At least I could drive it. Do you think the cord is broke, stripped, or just slipped off?

Sound like the cable has come loose. Like I said before, look under the glovebox on the passenger side. Turn the temp. dial and see if the lever moves with the cable attached to it.

my cable was unhooked. you have to take the dash trim off, then unbolt the heater controls and then either something will be broken and need to be replaced or you'll jsut have to hook the cable back up. it's not that hard once you open it up.
