CAI for b18a in second gen CRX
For those with an LS motor in a second gen CRX, what cold air intake works for this setup? A friend of mine just bought a CRX with an LS motor and would like to add a CAI.
Would'nt the crx cai diameter be to small ? I would say go with a b series cai, I would go with a 00 si cai.

ok lets put it this way
lsvtec, gsr, b18b, b16a, crvtec, and D series (si version) all take the same cold air intake, as long as you make sure that it is at least 2.5" mandrel bent you should be fine on a b series set up, just get one for a crx that has a 2.5" mandrel bent tube
thx

ok, thanks guys. My friend already relocated the battery to the rear of the car. do you guyd know which B series CAI has 2.5" piping? the 99/00 Si intake?
aem will be coming out with their new cold air intake, the V2 which starts out much larger (4 inches) and then tapers.
Do you think that the 99-00 Si V2 will fit into an ef?

Yea, the 99-00 Si cai with a relocated battery is the way to do it.

I am using the oem intake system from a 91 Si HB on my crvtec'd crx si and it works fine.

ok you'll be FINE with a crx/ef CAI.
*If you think you motor is going to be reving like in the 8k range get the CAI for the 99 si (2.75) you will have to move battery. Fits perfect and looks great.
If you are really really seriouse about doing a B18b all motor get a ITR cai which is 3inch piping.
I have the ITR CAI for my B20

the itr CAI will NOT work,
the best fit, and performance AVAILABLE for these types of cars with swaps is the 99-00 Si aem cai.
thank you.
we are glad that u have this, but hes got an EF chassis, not a 92+ chassis.

The correct b-series intake diameter is 2.75 not 2.5. 2.5 is the D-series intakes.
