We just finished (for the most part) the swap in that ed9, and we arent a getting a damn bit of spark. WTF can we do. i mean i changed the plugs/wires, and still nothing, anyone run into a stupid thing that might fix it, other that a coil/distrocap?

Tried the search function, not a damn bit of help.......

And if it is the Distro/coil, what model would i go to buy? Is the del slo VTEC one the same or is that different too?

 

igniter/ignition module

 

no spark??
replace rotor and dizzy cap(rotor could be detached..broken screw, cap/rotor could be too old/worn)
then
check ignitor and coil(burnt out, faulty)
then
its most likely the dizzy(since its a swap not all b16s come with good dizzys or garauntee to i believe)

when my hatch wouldnt get spark i just replaced Dizzy and it wouldnt start then i bought a new cap/rotor and it then started nicely. Got old dizzy checked out it was messed up as well as cap/rotor.

Are you throwing any codes on the ECU?

 

ok, well i cehcked, and we have power at the coil pack. i cleaned up the rotor contact, and the distro cap contacts witha lil sandpaper. still nothing. so i got my buddy pickin one up right now.

 

THis ignitor is expensive. I've got two of them laying around here. I'm up by Albany. I could overnight you one if you want.

 

i could come up and get it. How much you want for it.

make sure the ground on the themostat is grounded or someplace on the back of motor and that the battery ground is on the car also.

 

well the coil pack is well gorunded, as is the car, i tested it. but im open for any suggestions i guess, maybe i will just wrap the whole damn block in tin foil and solder it to the frame rail or something.

 

also, what the hell is the eavc? i guess its on the intake manifold? i dont see anything under there.

 

ttt. well its not the coil, or ignitor, still no spark. what the hell? HElp.

really dumb thing to add, but do you have the valve cover to chassis ground strap? don't ask me how why i ask this...

how far away are you from SUNY albany?

 

all the parts seem to working fine, i tested them, and everyhting seems to be OK, why am i not getting spark? i have brand dew wires and plugs.

 

I once did a swap and couldn't get the car to start...checked everything> I forgot to plug in the ecu
