Are aftermarket fuel filters just as good as Honda ones? What do you suggest for a B16?

And if anyone has some pictures/links of the install, please post. Thanks

They're probably not just as good, but I'm sure they'll work fine. As far as the b16A, I would suggest using one from a 99 Si or a delSol VTEC

I always thought that OEM was the way to go because the parts were made to the exact specifications for the vehicle as where aftermarket would not have access to those specifications. Also, how many miles did you get out of your original filter before you had to replace it? Now compare that to how many you will get out of an aftermarket filter. I bet you the aftermarket has about a half life of the OEM filter.

Actually, I already bought one at this performance shop. It's not OEM Honda and I can't find a brand. It just says Made in Korea on it. I'm just wondering if it will ge OK to use it?

come on, it's a filter. as long as it filters the fuel like it's supposed to, then there is nothing different...i could give three ***** if my parts come from Honda...you don't think Honda subs there parts out just like everyone else???...you don't thing Honda has the same asian sweat shop that everyone else, has making their filters?

holy ****, between having to have "original honda parts", and having to be "jdm". i think i'm gonna go freakin crazy....

Actually, the filters that we get in the US are either made here or canada. They farm out thier filters all over the world. You would have to go to japan to get an OEM JDM filter.
The fighting argument for factory parts is that they have consistent quality that does generally outlast it's parts store counterparts three to four times longer.

I think my local Honda dealer quoted me like $40, which is why I bought it aftermarket for $15. It's just hard to know which parts must be OEM or not. I've read lots of posts here where people said ignition parts must be OEM. Many have posted that even the coolant needs to be OEM.

Wow...the AEM one is $96! Makes OEM seem cheap!
