yes, it will work. A heatgun is best to distribute the heat. I would not recommend it if you are planning on doing some serious stretching (1"+)

 

Does the plastic return to the original size once it has cooled down?

 

No, it will stay in the shape you create.

Mark is right. ABS is a thermo plastic. It is easy to mold into different shapes with a heat gun (legacy of my IASCA days...)

I am not familiar with ABS plastic, but is this the platic that the integra panels are made out of. I hope not because they told me when my car caught on fire, that the heating of the panel create toxic fumes that a permanent once they settle into interior fabric. Be careful.
