Battery Tie down problem with lightweight battery?
I recently picked up a T1R lightweight battery, and that thing is tiny. Anyway, my battery tie down(I guess its the stock one as far as I can tell) wont screw on tight enough to secure the battery. Anyone else have a similar issue and what did you do to secure the battery?

for a clean fix use a stack of small washers on the metal tie down rods then put the nut on top of them to tight the battary down.
Man you guys are Ghetto
Take the existing battery tie-down brackets ( the metal rod) and measure the length you need to shorten the rod. Mark the spot on the lower end of the rod (the curved end), add about 3/4 of an inch to the marked spot and cut the curved end off. Stick the non-threaded end in a vise and bend it to match the factory curve. Reinstall. Now you have the tie-down without the threaded end sticking up 2 inches above the battery. YO

If you want a pretty set up get one of these brackets from Holley. Please excuse the picture size.

That looks like a nice setup but I don't think it can work with the T1R battery since the terminals are at the top of the battery.
You gotta do it this way man. Ignore the rust, leaky taillights. I bought the car this way, and haven't had the chance to fix that part up yet.

I have the T1R battery and have experienced no such issues.
the two battery tie down threaded posts have enough length/thread to tie down a battery probably another size down!

Just checked comptech's website and their bars look almost like OEM. The one that is hollowed out wasn't on their website. Weird. Wouldn't that make it weak?
